About Us - We have accredited Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) Assessment Centres in London (Ealing, Kensington, London Bridge), Surrey (Epsom, Redhill and Woking), Berkshire (Windsor and Wokingham) and Salisbury, from which we have undertaken over 4,000 assessments since 2011. We provide support for students with:
· Specific learning difficulties, such as dyslexia and dyspraxia
· Asperger Syndrome or Autism Spectrum Conditions
· Physical disabilities
· Blind or visual impairment
· Deaf or hearing impairment
· Long-term medical conditions such as epilepsy, diabetes or arthritis.
· Temporary injuries, e.g. a broken leg
· Mental health difficulties
Our Ealing Centre is based at United Business Centres, 1000 Great West Road, TW8 9DW. This is 5 minutes walking distance of Brentford rail station and adjacent to the University of West London’s Brentford site.
Our Kensington Centre is based at the Regus business centre, 239 High Street Kensington, London, W8 6SA. This is 5 minutes walking distance from High Street Kensington underground station.
Our London Bridge Centre is based at the Regus business centre, 1st Floor, 3 More London Riverside, London, SE1 2AQ, next to London’s City Hall. This is within 5 minutes walking distance from London Bridge railway and underground station.
Our Epsom centre (Surrey Assessment Centre) is based within RNIB's Swail House, Ashley Road, Epsom, Surrey, KT18 5AZ. This is within a 5 to 10 minute walk from Epsom station and has on site parking available.
Overlooking Salisbury's Guildhall Square, our Salisbury Centre is based at Regus, Cross Keys House, 22 Queen Street, Guildhall Square, SP1 1EY. This is within a 10 minute walk from Salisbury railway station and just minutes from several city centre car parks.
We have recently opened new assessment centres in Woking, Redhill, Windsor and Wokingham (Winnersh Triangle), call now for details.
Each Centre offers assessments to all students and prospective students who qualify for the DSA and have received agreement in writing from Student Finance, NHS or your funding body, for a Needs Assessment. Assessments can currently be undertaken within 10 working days. Both centres are open 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
Before you request an appointment you will need:
- A DSA1 eligibility letter from your funding body
- Medical evidence or an educational psychologist report
DSA can help towards the cost of:
- Specialist equipment (e.g. a digital voice recorder, assistive software)
- One-to-one support such as
- Specialist study skills
- Specialist mentoring for Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC)
- Specialist Mental Health Mentoring
- A number of other costs you may have to pay because of your disability
Personal Care cannot be funded through DSA, although Adult Services in your area may be able to help.
